Sean Thomas

Sean Thomas was born in 1963 in Devon, brought up in Herefordshire, and lives in London – where much of ‘Kissing England’ is set. He is, however, a truebred Cornishman – his father (D.M Thomas, author of the White Hotel) and his mother are both Cornish. Sean is a journalist specialising in travel, lifestyle, criticism and sex. In recent years his work has appeared in ‘The Times, The Sunday Times’ and ‘The Sunday Telegraph, Maxim’ and ‘Cosmopolitan, GQ, FHM, Conde Nast Traveller’. Flamingo published his second novel, ‘Kissing England’, in August 2000.

His first novel, ‘Absent Fathers’, was published in 1996, to critical acclaim: “Testosterone fuelled prose… I shall look forward to his next.”‘The Times’; “A fast, heated, well-written novel.” ‘The Observer’; “Brilliantly vivid… peculiar and violent… there is no shattering denouement that helpfully divides the angels from the devils. Sean Thomas’s demotic, unflinching prose is too subtle for that.” ‘The Independent on Sunday’
