Robert Fisk

The most decorated British foreign correspondent, Fisk was based in the Middle East for four decades, and his knowledge of the area was unparalleled. He wrote daily for the Independent and is syndicated in Italy (La Repubblica), Spain (El País) and France (Le Monde), amongst others. He has been awarded the British International Journalist of the Year Award seven times and has also received the Amnesty International UK Press Award twice. The Great War for Civilisation, a history of his career and the numerous conflicts he has covered, was published internationally to great critical acclaim. He is also the author of Pity the Nation, a history of the Lebanese war, and The Age of the Warrior, an anthology of his ‘Comment’ pieces from the Independent.
