T Geronimo Johnson

Born and raised in New Orleans, T. Geronimo Johnson received his MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and his M.A. from UC Berkeley. Welcome to Braggsville was longlisted for the National Book Award, the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence, named one of the 10 books all Georgians should read by the Georgia Center for the Book, and won the Ernest J. Gaines Award for Literary Excellence. His first novel, Hold it ‘til it Hurts, was a finalist for the PEN/Faulkner Award. He lives in Berkeley, CA.

Madeleine St. John

Born in Sydney, Madeleine St John graduated from Sydney University and has since lived mostly in London. Her third novel, ‘The Essence of the Thing’, was shortlisted for the 1997 Booker Prize.

Paulette Jiles

Paulette Jiles was born and raised in the Missouri Ozarks. A critically acclaimed poet, she is a past winner of the Canadian Governor General Award, Canada’s highest literary honour. She lives with her husband in San Antonio, Texas. She has written several novels of which ‘Enemy Women’ is the most recent.

Stanley Johnson

Stanley Johnson is a veteran author, environmentalist and politician – and father of Boris Johnson, the London mayor.
Stanley’s career has seen him write successful thrillers, confront seal-clubbers on ice floes and be hailed by Greenpeace.
He has also worked for the World Bank, the United Nations, the European Commission and John D Rockefeller.
While his work has taken him all over the world, Stanley has always kept his strong links with Exmoor, where he still manages the family farm.
