Aida Edemariam

Aida Edemariam, whose father is Ethiopian and mother Canadian, grew up in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She studied English literature at Oxford University and the University of Toronto, and his worked as a journalist in New York, Toronto and London, where she is currently a senior feature writer and editor for the Guardian. She lives in Oxford.

Inua Ellams

Born in Nigeria in 1984, Inua Ellams is an internationally touring poet, playwright, performer, graphic artist & designer. He is an ambassador for the Ministry of Stories and has published four books of poetry: Candy Coated Unicorns and Converse All Stars, Thirteen Fairy Negro Tales, The Wire-Headed Heathen and #Afterhours. His play, Barber Shop Chronicles, sold out at England’s National Theatre. He is currently touring An Evening With An Immigrant.

David Ewing Duncan

David Ewing Duncan, the author of five books, including the international bestseller ‘Calendar’, writes for Wired, Discover, and the Atlantic Monthly. He is a freelance producer and correspondent for ABC’s Nightline, and a commentator on NPR’s Morning Edition. He lives in San Francisco, CA.

Lucy English

Lucy English was born in Sri Lanka and grew up in London. She studied English and American Literature at the University of East Anglia and has an MA in Creative Writing. She is a performance poet, has three children, and is the author of three novels, ‘Selfish People’, ‘Children of Light’ and ‘Our Dancing Days’.

Jeffrey Eugenides

Jeffrey Eugenides is the author of three novels. His first, The Virgin Suicides (1993), is now considered a modern classic. Middlesex (2002) won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, and both Middlesex and The Marriage Plot (2011) were finalists for the National Book Critics Circle Award. Fresh Complaint, a collection of short stories, was published in 2017. He is a member both of The American Academy of Arts and Letters and The American Academy of Arts & Sciences.

Miranda Emmerson

Miranda Emmerson is a playwright and author living in Wales. She has written numerous drama adaptations for BBC Radio 4 as well as highly-acclaimed original dramas. Miss Treadway & The Field of Stars is her first novel.

Susan Elderkin

Born in 1968, Susan Elderkin is a graduate of Cambridge University and of the Creative Writing MA at the University of East Anglia. For the past five years she has worked as a freelance journalist. She is the recipient of an Amazon.co.uk Award and her first novel, ‘Sunset Over Chocolate Mountain’, won a Betty Trask Award and was nominated for the Orange Future Prize.
