Ishmael Beah came to the United States when he was seventeen and graduated from Oberlin College in 2004. He is a member of the Human Rights Watch Children’s Rights Division Advisory Committee and has spoken before the United Nations on several occasions. He lives in New York City.

Jane Baxter

Jane Baxter has been head chef at Riverford’s Field Kitchen since 2005. She trained with Joyce Molyneux at the Carved Angel in Dartmouth before moving on to the River Cafe in London. Subsequent years of travelling and cooking her way around the Southern Hemisphere have greatly influenced her cooking style.

Daniel Birnbaum

Daniel Birnbaum is one of the world’s most prominent art curators and is currently director of Acute Art in London. He contributes regularly to numerous British and American art magazines including Artforum. Dr. B. is his first work of fiction.
