From 4th: 2019 books (pt1)

• Jan 3, 2019 •

2019 sees the release of some brilliant books from 4th Estate – all which we are sure you will absolutely love. Here are just a few that the 4th Estate team are particularly looking forward to, and ones that should be added to your TBR pile right away.

“As a huge fan of her podcast, I’m very excited about Elizabeth Day’s How to Fail next year.  Elizabeth presents such a refreshing take on failure (and how in fact being able to reflect on our mistakes might bring us closer to future successes), and she talks so openly and honestly about her own experiences. I can’t wait to dive in.” Out on 4th April.
Sarah, Assistant Editor

“I cannot wait for When I Had A Little Sister by Catherine Simpson in February. It’s a raw and honest look at family, grief and what it’s like to love someone with mental illness . I found it deeply moving and it sat with me long after I read it, but also the way Catherine mixes in her wry humour and lightness of touch to make this book really sing. I cannot recommend it enough.” Out on 7th February.
Naomi, Publicity Manager

“One is almost impossible to pick – the line-up for 2019 has all the makings of a banger year. But I can’t wait for readers to discover the messy world of Korean assassins in Un-Su Kim’s The Plotters. Part John Wick, part Albert Camus, this crazy blend of ultra-violence and existential angst is a knock-out. The opening chapter is one of the best I’ve ever read and it just gets better and better from there.” Out on 21st February.
Matt, Marketing Director

We Must Be Brave is one of the most compelling and gorgeously written novels I’ve read in a long time, and I think possibly one of my all-time favourite books. I can’t wait to see it cause the excitement it deserves.”
Caroline, Sales Executive

Stay tuned for more picks this week.
