V. S. Ramachandran is one of the world’s leading brain researchers. He is Professor and Director of The Center for Brain and Cognition, University of California, San Diego and adjunct Professor at the Salk Institute, La Jolla. He is the recipient of many scientific honours including a gold medal from the Australian National University, and a visiting fellow of All Souls College, Oxford. He also gave the ‘Decade of the Brain’ lecture at the Silver Jubilee meeting of the Society for Neuroscience. He lives in Del Mar, San Diego.
