Nigel Slater’s Simple Suppers on the BBC has introduced many new people to Nigel’s style of simple, flavoursome recipes and books that are about good food rather than pretentious eating.

This style of recipe and cooking has been something we have been proud to publish in Nigel Slater’s books over the years.

Although there is no ‘Simple Suppers’ book, you will find great Nigel recipes in The Kitchen Diaries, Tender Volumes I & II and Nigel’s other books which you find on this site.

As well as Nigel cookery books, we have also published his memoir, Toast, which was adapted into a film starring Helena Bonham-Carter and Freddie Highmore, and his book Eating for England, about the glories and eccentricities of British eating habits.

So, if you’re a fan of Nigel Slater and love Simple Suppers, we heartily recommend giving his books a go.

Fourth Estate have published 5 of his cookery books and two pieces of nonfiction and there are six more cookery books available from Penguin, which you can find on their site here.
